MediFriends Website UX/UI Redesign

Overview

MediFriends envisioned a forum where people could come together to discuss health-related issues and receive support and a sense of community from others going through a similar situation.

The site was created and some investment already made into marketing and driving traffic to the site but no users were signing up to participate despite these efforts. I was involved in a redesign of the user interface to create a better user experience and to help draw users in to the conversations happening on the site and motivate them to sign up.

One thing that stood out was the site did not allow visitors to view any conversations without signing up first and there was also no other content on the site. After some initial competitor research, including some popular forums that were not health-related, I encouraged MediFriends to allow anyone visiting the site to view conversations and only require sign up when the user was ready to participate. We easily confirmed that this would still follow HIPAA requirements for the site.

I completed wireframes and some initial layouts that were to be tested by user research to ensure that our initial assumptions were correct.
